Full course description
Cape Cod, Massachusetts is the home to IFAW's International Operations Center (IOC) and sees more instances of live mass strandings of dolphins than anywhere else in the world. IFAW’s marine rescue experts, renowned for their experience, research, and innovation over the past 25 years, understand the specialized diagnostics, treatment, rescue, and release techniques required by these animals.
This workshop will provide IFAW volunteers and responders from the Greater Atlantic Stranding network training in techniques and procedures employed during cetacean mass strandings. Topics covered will include mass stranding event management, health assessment of cetaceans, herding, and tagging of stranded and released cetaceans.
This course is only for IFAW Staff and Agency Partners.
Delivery: In-person, synchronous
